Lexpad vs AnkiTwo good tools.
Different jobs.

Anki is a powerful, general flashcard program for anything you want to memorise. Lexpad is built for one thing: the vocabulary you meet yourself. If you study many subjects or want full control of the algorithm, Anki is the better fit. If you want to keep your own words with as little setup as possible, Lexpad is.

Moving your words from Anki

Export your vocabulary deck from Anki as plain text with two columns (word and meaning), then import that file in Lexpad from Settings, Import & export. Lexpad reads two-column CSV or TSV files; it does not read Anki’s .apkg package format. Your Anki review history does not come across, so words start in box 1. Improve with AI can then fill in examples and pronunciation.

When to stay with Anki

  • You study more than vocabulary: medicine, law, history, code.
  • You want to tune the scheduling algorithm yourself.
  • You rely on shared decks or add-ons.
  • You need an iPhone app today. Lexpad runs in the browser on iPhone; its iOS app is in preparation.

When Lexpad fits better

  • You learn words you meet while reading, chatting or watching, and want to save them in seconds.
  • You would rather not write each card yourself.
  • You want a schedule you can understand at a glance.
  • You learn in a right-to-left language, or in Persian, where every Pro feature is free.

Questions

Can I import my Anki deck?

Yes, as a two-column CSV or TSV exported from Anki. The .apkg format and review history are not imported.

Is Lexpad an Anki alternative?

For vocabulary, yes. For other subjects, no: Lexpad only keeps words and phrases.

Can I use both?

Yes. Some learners capture and review new words in Lexpad and keep other subjects in Anki.
