In short

You write down a word or phrase in any of 81 languages. Lexpad can complete it into a full card with AI, and short daily sessions bring it back on a Leitner schedule until you know it. It runs in the browser, as an installed web app and on Android, with extensions for Chrome and Firefox. The notebook and every practice type are free; Pro adds more AI.

  1. Collect

Type a word, say it, paste a text, select it on a web page, or import it from a Kindle or a file.

  2. Complete

“Fill with AI” writes meanings, examples, pronunciation and level. Edit anything; it is your card.

  3. Practise

Open Today and tap “Start session”. Right answers move a word up a box; misses bring it back today.

  4. Keep

Box 5 is mastered and still comes back every 21 days, so the word stays yours.

Who it suits

  • People who meet new words while reading, watching, working or living in another language, and want to keep them rather than follow a fixed course.
  • Learners of any language pair, including same-language notebooks for building vocabulary in your own language.
  • Readers on Kindle, since looked-up words and highlights import straight in.
  • People who already chat with ChatGPT or Claude: connect Lexpad and save or practise words from the chat.
  • Persian speakers and Persian learners: every Pro feature is free in a notebook with Persian on either side.

Where it is not the right tool

  • Lexpad does not choose words for you. There are no ready-made word lists, courses or words of the day; you bring the words.
  • There is no iPhone app yet. On an iPhone, use the web app in Safari and add it to the home screen.
  • It is not a grammar course or a conversation partner for general topics. Lex talks only about language and your notebook.
